THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 103 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL WISCONSIN MARATHON PORTAGE WAUSHARA WOOD IN EAST CENTRAL WISCONSIN CALUMET WINNEBAGO IN NORTHEAST WISCONSIN OUTAGAMIE WAUPACA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF APPLETON, ARNOTT, AURORAVILLE, BAKERVILLE, BORTH, CLINTONVILLE, DARBOY, DUNDAS, KING, LIND CENTER, MACKVILLE, MARSHFIELD, MENASHA, NEENAH, NEW LONDON, NORTHERN LAKE WINNEBAGO, NORTHPORT, OSHKOSH, PLOVER, RURAL, SILVER LAKE, STEVENS POINT, WAUPACA, WAUSAU, WAUTOMA, WINNEBAGO, WISCONSIN RAPIDS, AND WITTMAN FIELD.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Wisconsin, including the following areas, in central Wisconsin, Marathon, Portage, Waushara and Wood. In east central Wisconsin, Calumet, Manitowoc and Winnebago. In north central Wisconsin, Langlade and Lincoln. In northeast Wisconsin, Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Menominee, Northern Marinette County, Northern Oconto County, Outagamie, Shawano, Southern Marinette County, Southern Oconto County and Waupaca.
When: Through Tuesday morning.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding will also be possible.
Additional Details: - Soils are saturated due to recent rainfall and rain across the area this afternoon. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms continue to develop across the watch area through this evening, and will likely produce widespread additional rainfall amounts of 1 to locally 2 inches, with locally higher amounts. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Description

At 740 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Marshfield, Spencer, Pittsville, Stratford, Marathon City, Edgar, Rib Falls, Hewitt, Sherry, Auburndale, Vesper, Junction City, Rudolph, Arpin, Milladore, Fenwood and Rozellville.

Action Recommandée

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
