Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of south central and southwest Michigan, including the following counties, in south central Michigan, Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia and Jackson. In southwest Michigan, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ottawa and Van Buren.
When: From 8 PM EDT this evening through late Thursday night.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Description

What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of south central Michigan, including the following counties, Eaton and Ingham.
When: Until 645 AM EDT Wednesday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
Additional Details: - At 1244 AM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - Almost an inch of rain has fallen in the last hour. Additional rainfall of an inch or two is possible over the next few hours. This could cause minor flooding, especially to the urban and small stream regions and low lying areas. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Lansing, East Lansing, Edgemont Park, Dimondale, Waverly, Holt, Okemos and Haslett. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
