An area of light snow is dropping down over the area this morning. It will pick up in intensity toward the lakeshore, especially west of a line from Grand Haven to Kalamazoo. Snowfall rates could increase to half an inch per hour at times. The snowfall rates increasing will cause roads to become snow covered and slick this morning. Visibilities will also be locally reduced to less than a mile at times under the heaviest snow showers. If traveling in this area this morning, allow for some extra time to reach your destination, and drive under posted speeds. The snow showers will then taper off during the course of the afternoon.
