SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 117 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 4 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS MERCER ROCK ISLAND IN IOWA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 10 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL IOWA CEDAR CLINTON IOWA JOHNSON MUSCATINE SCOTT IN SOUTHEAST IOWA JEFFERSON KEOKUK LOUISA WASHINGTON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALEDO, BETTENDORF, CLINTON, CREDIT ISLAND, DAVENPORT, FAIRFIELD, IOWA CITY, MARENGO, MOLINE, MUSCATINE, ROCK ISLAND, SIGOURNEY, TIPTON, WAPELLO, AND WASHINGTON.

Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Clinton and Scott Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.
When: Until Thursday afternoon.
Impacts: At 12.5 feet, water affects old U.S. Highway 61 near the river.
Additional Details: - At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 12.3 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 12.6 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday morning and continue falling to 9.5 feet Tuesday, April 21. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

Action Recommandée

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Wednesday evening at 900 PM CDT.
