Description

What: 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
Where: Areas along the Pamlico Sound adjacent tidal creeks.
When: From 10 AM this morning to 10 AM EST Sunday.
Impacts: 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes adjacent to the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

Action Recommandée

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.

What: For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 30 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 5 above expected. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 1 below expected.
Where: Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island.
When: For the Wind Advisory, from 7 AM this morning to 4 AM EST Sunday. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 9 AM this morning to 10 PM EST this evening. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Sunday.
Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia and frostbite with prolonged exposure.
