Critical Fire Weather Conditions Expected Thursday: The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon Thursday to midnight CDT Thursday night. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
Winds: South to southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up 30 to 35 mph.
Relative Humidity: West of Highway 281, as low as 10 to 15 percent. East of Highway 281, as low as 15 to 20 percent.
Impacts: Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
