What: Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Boone, Central Cook, De Kalb, DuPage, Eastern Will, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, La Salle, Lake IL, Lee, Livingston, McHenry, Northern Cook, Northern Will, Ogle, Southern Cook, Southern Will and Winnebago and northwest Indiana, including the following areas, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter.
When: Until 1 AM CDT Thursday.
Impacts: Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded.
Additional Details: - Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through this evening. Elevated soil moisture due to recent rainfall is expected to increase the susceptibility to flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
A Flood Watch for flash flooding means rapid-onset flooding is possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Flash flooding is a dangerous situation. Persons with interests along area rivers, creeks, and other waterways should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

S: Fox River at Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater affecting Lake IL, McHenry and Kane Counties. For the Fox River (Illinois)including Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwaterModerate flooding is forecast.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Fox River from Johnsburg downstream to Red Gate Road in St. Charles, including the Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater gauge.
When: Until further notice.
Impacts: At 11.5 feet, Residences threatened along Oceola Drive in Algonquin. A few residences threatened along McBridge Street in Elgin. Jayne Street and Beach Drive threatened in Algonquin. River Street threatened in East Dundee. Jerusha Avenue threatened in Elgin. Fox River Trail threatened between East Dundee and Elgin.
