Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route over higher ground. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued Wednesday afternoon by 215 PM CDT.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Frio and Medina.
When: Until 915 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.
Additional Details: - At 606 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Pearsall, North Pearsall, Bluff, Frio Town and Derby. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
