Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Wisconsin Wisconsin River At Portage affecting Columbia County.
What: Major flooding is forecast.
Where: Wisconsin River at Portage.
When: Until Monday afternoon.
Impacts: At 20.5 feet, Indian trail in Lake Delton area is flooded. Other roads that are flooded are River Oaks Road in the Town of Dekorra, River Shores Road in the Town of Lewiston, Levee Road, Wood Street, Summit St, Conant St and parts of Thunderbird Road in the Portage area.
Additional Details: - At 7:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 16.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.7 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.4 feet Thursday evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Monday morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 20.5 feet on 09/14/1938. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
