SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 293 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEW MEXICO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO COLFAX HARDING UNION THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CAPULIN, CHICOSA LAKE STATE PARK, CLAYTON, DES MOINES, MILLS, RATON, ROSEBUD, ROY, SUGARITE, AND YATES.

Description

At 518 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from 9 miles northeast of Des Moines to 9 miles south of Wagon Mound, moving southeast at 30 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Wagon Mound, Des Moines, Roy, Folsom, Grenville, Farley, Gladstone, Abbott, Chicosa Lake State Park and Mills. This includes the following highway
S: Highway 64 between Mile Markers 374 and 409. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 374 and 394.
