THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 342 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS BOND CLINTON FAYETTE MARION WASHINGTON IN SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS MADISON MONROE SAINT CLAIR IN MISSOURI THIS WATCH INCLUDES 22 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MISSOURI AUDRAIN BOONE CALLAWAY COLE MONITEAU OSAGE IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI FRANKLIN GASCONADE JEFFERSON LINCOLN MONTGOMERY SAINT CHARLES SAINT LOUIS SAINT LOUIS CITY WARREN IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI KNOX LEWIS MARION MONROE PIKE RALLS SHELBY THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALTON, BELLEVILLE, BOWLING GREEN, CAHOKIA, CENTRALIA, COLUMBIA, EDWARDSVILLE, FULTON, HANNIBAL, JEFFERSON CITY, MEXICO, SAINT CHARLES, SAINT LOUIS, SALEM, SULLIVAN, UNION, VANDALIA, AND WASHINGTON.

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Missouri Mississippi River at Mel Price LD. Mississippi River at Louisiana. Mississippi River at Clarksville.

S: Missouri Mississippi River at Chester. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.
When: Until Friday morning.
Additional Details: - At 12:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 21.2 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:00 PM CDT Wednesday was 21.2 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.2 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

Description

What: Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
Where: Portions of south central and southwest Illinois and east central Missouri.
When: From 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening.
Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
