The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Michigan Chocolay River near Harvey affecting Marquette County. .Flows in rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Chocolay River near Harvey.
When: Until early Thursday afternoon.
Impacts: At 9.0 feet, Water begins to inundate the parking lot where M-28 crosses the Chocolay Riveras well as low lying areas along Timber Lane and towards the mouth of the river At 10.0 feet, Water inundates the entire parking lot at the M-28 bridgeand the fishing pier begins to be submerged. Water inundates low lying areas along Timber Lane and Riverside Road downstream of the river gauge site At 11.5 feet, The fishing pier and parking lot near the M-28 bridge will be under water. Timber Lane and Riverside Road may be closed. Homes along Timber Laneand some along Riverside Roadwill experience extensive flooding At 12.0 feet, Homes in low-lying areas along Riverside Road and homes in the 200 block of Timber Lane will be inundated. Backwater effects near the mouth of the river may impact homes on Motel Drive
Additional Details: - At 6:00 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 10.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 6:00 AM EDT Tuesday was 10.2 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.2 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 8.6 feet on 06/24/2024. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood

The Flood Advisory continues for the following rivers in Michigan Michigamme River near Republic affecting Marquette County. .Warming temperatures will accelerate snowmelt this week. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and could rise into River Flood Warning. Rainfall is expected to occur at times this week, which could result in rivers rising above the current forecast.
What: Elevated river levels caused by rain and snowmelt continue.
Where: Michigamme River near Republic.
When: Until further notice.
Impacts: At 7.7 feet, Water begins to impact the yards of homes near Bengtson bridge on County Road LI in South Republic At 10.0 feet, Portions of County Roads 601LE and LG experience significant flooding
Additional Details: - At 8:30 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 5.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.4 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to 8.7 feet early Sunday afternoon. Where: A portion of central Upper Michigan, including the following county, Marquette.
When: Until 1000 PM EDT Wednesday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.
Additional Details: - At 955 AM EDT, gauge reports from the Chocolay River in Skandia indicated heavy rain and snowmelt creating bankfull to higher river levels. This is causing small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Skandia and Carlshend. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What: Visibility 1/4 mile or less in dense fog.
Where: Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan.
When: Until 10 AM EDT /9 AM CDT/ this morning.
Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
Additional Details: Dense fog is developing as the low levels cool and ample moisture remains in place, along with light winds off of the remaining snowpack and cold waters of the Great Lakes.
If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
