THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 488 IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MONTANA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MONTANA GOLDEN VALLEY MUSSELSHELL WHEATLAND THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF HARLOWTON, LAVINA, ROUNDUP, AND RYEGATE.

Description

Persistent storms have occurred just east of Judith Gap, producing a combination of rain and hail. Th storms have transitioned into mostly heavy rain producers, and will continue to occur over the next 1-3 hours.
What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: North Central Golden Valley County in central Montana Northeastern Wheatland County in central Montana
When: Until 1045 PM MDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 748 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Mainly rural areas of North Central Golden Valley and Northeastern Wheatland Counties. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Action Recommandée

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not drive on or attempt to cross flooded roads, find an alternate route. Roads and driveways may be damaged or washed out in places.
