Description

What: For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 1 above expected. For the High Wind Warning, north winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 6 below expected.
Where: Northampton and Accomack Counties.
When: For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 1 AM EST Sunday. For the High Wind Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 4 PM EST Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 1 AM to 10 AM EST Sunday.
Impacts: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. The cold wind chills as low as 5 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

What: For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to 11 feet expected in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
Where: In Maryland, the Maryland Beaches. In Virginia, Accomack County.
When: For the High Surf Advisory, from 1 AM Sunday to 4 AM EST Monday. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 3 AM to 11 AM EST Sunday.
Impacts: Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.

Action Recommandée

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
