Description

Several clusters of thunderstorms have produced heavy rain acrossparts of southeast West Virginia this afternoon. Additionalthunderstorms are expected to result in urban and small streamflooding.* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE...A portion of southeast West Virginia, including thefollowing counties, Greenbrier, Mercer and Summers.* WHEN...Until 945 PM EDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or isimminent.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 542 PM EDT, Local law enforcement reported heavy rain inthe advisory area due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poordrainage areas have already caused minor flooding in theadvisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.- This includes the following streams and drainages...Beaver Branch, Blacklick Creek, Big Branch, Bluestone River,Beaver Creek, Big Creek, Big Clear Creek and Beech Run.Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expectedover the area.
