...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity for thefollowing rivers in Texas...Navasota River near Normangee affecting Grimes, Madison andBrazos Counties.For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Major flooding isforecast.* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding isforecast.* WHERE...Navasota River near Normangee.* WHEN...Until further notice.* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Major lowland flooding begins with massiveinundation of the flood plain as the river is close to 2 mileswide and OSR become inundated one half mile on the right bank and1.5 miles on the left bank.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 18.8 feet.- Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hoursending at 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 18.8 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.6feet late this evening.- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of22.4 feet on 03/11/2016.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
