What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Where: A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Nolan, Runnels, San Saba, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, Taylor and Tom Green.
When: Through this evening.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Additional Details: - A line of showers and thunderstorms will move through West Central Texas late morning through this evening. Heavy rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible as the storms move through, A few areas may see up to 5 inches. With soils already saturated, rainfall will quickly run off and produce flash flooding. Low water crossings, city streets, and other flood prone and low lying areas will be particularly susceptible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

At 626 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles north of Lometa to near Buchanan Dam to near Prairie Mountain to 7 miles southeast of Us-83 Near The Kerr- Kimble County Line. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include San Saba, Cherokee, Castell, Art, Pontotoc, Loyal Valley, Chappel, Hedwigs Hill, Hilda, Colorado Bend State Park, Harkeyville, Us- 87 Near The Mason-Gillespie County Line, The Intersection Of I- 10 And Us 290, and I-10 Near The Kimble-Kerr County Line. This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 471 and 477.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for west central Texas.

Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Brownwood, San Saba, Early, Mason, Richland Springs, Algerita, Cherokee, Bangs, Cross Plains, Blanket, Skeeterville, Elm Grove, Placid, Sloan, Mercury, Rochelle, Winchell, Brookesmith, Voca and Fredonia. - This includes the following Low Water Crossing
