Description

What: Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Brazoria and Galveston.
When: Until 545 PM CDT.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
Additional Details: - At 417 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Southeastern Pearland, League City, Texas City, Friendswood, Alvin, Dickinson, La Marque, Santa Fe, Webster, Hitchcock, southern Manvel, Iowa Colony, Hillcrest, Liverpool and Chocolate Bayou. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of south central and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in south central Texas, Coastal Jackson and Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas, Austin, Bolivar Peninsula, Brazoria Islands, Chambers, Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Galveston, Coastal Harris, Coastal Matagorda, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston Island, Grimes, Inland Brazoria, Inland Galveston, Inland Harris, Inland Matagorda, Matagorda Islands, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington and Wharton.
When: Through Monday evening.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Additional Details: - Disturbances riding along a trough continue to bring periods of heavy rainfall to southeast Texas. Rainfall totals over the next 48 to 72 hours are between 2 to 4 inches, with isolated higher amounts of 4-6+ inches. Rainfall rates are expected to range from 2-4 inches per hour. Widespread 0.5 to 1.5 inches have already fallen over the last 12 hours. Convection has ramped up along a coastal boundary in conjuction with a shortwave from south Texas, increasing the flood potential this afternoon and evening. Additional intermittent periods of showers and thunderstorms are anticipated Sunday and Monday for part of the area. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

When: Until 630 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 322 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Galveston Causeway, Galveston Island West End, Texas City, La Marque, Hitchcock, Galveston Pier 21, Bayou Vista, Jamaica Beach, Tiki Island, Galveston State Park, Scholes Field, Offatts Bayou, Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn, Galveston Island East End, Pelican Island, The Strand, Galveston Pleasure Pier, San Luis Pass and Bolivar Peninsula. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
