What: Heavy snow expected above 2000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 6 inches at elevations between 2000 and 3000 feet, including portions of highway 138 east of Steamboat. Also, 6 to 14 inches at elevations above 3000 feet, including the back country. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph over high and exposed terrain.
Where: Eastern Douglas County Foothills. This includes portions of Highway 138 and Toketee Falls.
When: From 1 PM Wednesday to 10 AM PST Thursday.
Impacts: Travel may be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.
Additional Details: Light snow is expected in the back country from this evening into early Wednesday morning. After a break on Wednesday morning, moderate to heavy snow is expected Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.
