SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 372 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 6 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN OKLAHOMA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 16 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL OKLAHOMA PONTOTOC SEMINOLE IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA ATOKA BRYAN COAL HUGHES JOHNSTON MARSHALL IN SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA CARTER GARVIN JEFFERSON LOVE MURRAY STEPHENS IN SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA COMANCHE COTTON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ADA, ARDMORE, ATOKA, COALGATE, DAVIS, DUNCAN, DURANT, HOLDENVILLE, KINGSTON, LAWTON, LINDSAY, MADILL, MARIETTA, PAULS VALLEY, RINGLING, RYAN, SEMINOLE, SULPHUR, TEMPLE, THACKERVILLE, TISHOMINGO, WALTERS, WAURIKA, WETUMKA, WEWOKA, AND WYNNEWOOD.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of east central, southeast, and southern Oklahoma, including the following counties, in east central Oklahoma, Pontotoc. In southeast Oklahoma, Johnston. In southern Oklahoma, Carter, Garvin and Murray.
When: Until 700 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 350 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Sulphur, Davis, Wynnewood, Roff, Mill Creek, Dougherty, Hickory, Lake Of The Arbuckles, Turner Falls, Scullin, Hennepin and Pooleville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
