The National Weather Service in Cleveland has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Ashland County in north central Ohio Northern Richland County in north central Ohio Southeastern Medina County in northeastern Ohio Northwestern Stark County in northeastern Ohio Southern Summit County in northeastern Ohio Wayne County in northeastern Ohio Until 145 AM EDT. At 1032 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Akron, Canton, Mansfield, Wooster, Ashland, Massillon, Barberton, Green, Wadsworth, North Canton, Shelby, Orrville, Rittman, Ontario, Crestline, Doylestown, Creston, Dalton, West Salem and Hayesville.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
