Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in New York Black River At Watertown affecting Jefferson and Lewis Counties. For the Black Riverincluding WatertownMinor flooding is forecast.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Black River at Watertown.
When: Until early Saturday morning.
Impacts: At 10.0 feet, Flood stage, farmland flooding begins in the Flats with some roads flooded. Minor damages to riverfront commercial properties in Dexter.
Additional Details: - At 12:45 PM EDT Friday the stage was nearly steady at 10.41 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:45 PM EDT Friday was 10.42 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to fall below flood stage late this evening and continue falling to 8.6 feet Monday morning. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 10.1 feet on 03/29/2021. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
