THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 305 IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS HANCOCK HENDERSON MCDONOUGH WARREN IN IOWA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 10 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL IOWA IOWA JOHNSON IN SOUTHEAST IOWA DES MOINES HENRY IA JEFFERSON KEOKUK LEE LOUISA VAN BUREN WASHINGTON IN MISSOURI THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI CLARK SCOTLAND THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BURLINGTON, CARTHAGE, FAIRFIELD, IOWA CITY, KAHOKA, KEOKUK, KEOSAUQUA, MACOMB, MARENGO, MEMPHIS, MONMOUTH, MOUNT PLEASANT, OQUAWKA, SIGOURNEY, WAPELLO, AND WASHINGTON.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bureau, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, Warren and Whiteside, Iowa, including the following areas, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland.
When: Through Thursday morning.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Additional Details: - Several rounds of heavy rain producing thunderstorms are expected through Thursday morning across the watch area. The storms may be slow moving or redeveloping over the same areas resulting in torrential rainfall and possibly several inches of rain by Thursday morning.
