Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Missouri South Grand River at Urich affecting Henry, Cass and Bates Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: South Grand River at Urich.
When: Until tomorrow evening.
Impacts: At 24.0 feet, flooding occurs across locations within 0.5 to 1.5 miles of the river. Areas affected include low lying pastures along with cropland and secondary roads. At 28.0 feet, K Highway is under water approximately 1 mile south of Urich. Many other roads along the river are flooded as well.
Additional Details: - At 1:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.1 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage early this morning to a crest of 27.0 feet this morning. Where: Portions of Kansas, including the following areas, Johnson KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami and Wyandotte and Missouri, including the following areas, Adair, Bates, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Clay, Clinton, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Linn MO, Livingston, Macon, Pettis, Platte, Randolph, Ray and Saline.
When: Through Thursday afternoon.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Additional Details: - Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall will continue through early Thursday morning across much of central Missouri and far eastern Kansas. At 141 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across the warned area. Numerous roads are closed in Bates and Henry counties, with additional flooding reported in southeast Cass and southwest Johnson counties. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. Travel is not recommended in the warning area overnight.
Hazard: Life threatening flash flooding from thunderstorms.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Butler, Adrian, Garden City, Rich Hill, Urich, Montrose, Creighton, Chilhowee, Rockville, Foster, Blairstown, Passaic, Ballard, Hartwell, Quick City, La Due, La Tour and Post Oak.
