TORNADO WATCH 640 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 6 AM CST EARLY THIS MORNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MISSISSIPPI THIS WATCH INCLUDES 13 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI COPIAH HINDS MADISON RANKIN SIMPSON IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI JEFFERSON DAVIS LAWRENCE LINCOLN IN SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI ADAMS CLAIBORNE FRANKLIN JEFFERSON IN WEST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI WARREN THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BASSFIELD, BRANDON, BROOKHAVEN, BUDE, CANTON, CRYSTAL SPRINGS, FAYETTE, HAZLEHURST, JACKSON, MADISON, MAGEE, MEADVILLE, MENDENHALL, MONTICELLO, NATCHEZ, NEW HEBRON, PEARL, PORT GIBSON, PRENTISS, RICHLAND, RIDGELAND, ROXIE, VICKSBURG, AND WESSON.

At 227 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Jackson, moving east at 40 mph.

Impact: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Jackson, Madison, Ridgeland, and Flowood around 230 AM CST. Gluckstadt around 235 AM CST.
