Description

Heavy rain may fall on a deep primed snowpack leading to the melt increasing. Flows in rivers may increase quickly and reach critical levels.
What: Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of central Upper and western Upper Michigan, including the following areas, in central Upper Michigan, Alger, Baraga, Delta, Dickinson, Iron, Luce, Marquette, Menominee, Northern Schoolcraft and Southern Schoolcraft. In western Upper Michigan, Gogebic, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, Ontonagon and Southern Houghton.
When: Through Wednesday morning.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in MichiganWisconsin Menominee River near Vulcan affecting Marinette, Dickinson and Menominee Counties. Menominee River near McAllister affecting Marinette and Menominee Counties. For the Menominee Riverincluding Vulcan, McAllisterMajor flooding is forecast.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Menominee River near Vulcan.
When: Until further notice.
Impacts: At 19.0 feet, Floodwaters may cover portions of Homestead and Sturgeon Dam Roads.
Additional Details: - At 12:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 15.1 feet and rising. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:00 PM CDT Monday was 15.2 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.5 feet early Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 17.7 feet on 04/19/2002. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in Michigan Michigamme River near Witch Lake affecting Marquette and Dickinson Counties. .Warming temperatures will accelerate snowmelt this week. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and could rise into River Flood Warning. Rainfall is expected to occur at times this week, which could result in rivers rising above the current forecast.
What: Elevated river levels caused by rain and snowmelt are occurring.
Where: Michigamme River near Witch Lake.
When: From this morning until further notice.
Impacts: At 8.0 feet, Water inundates low lying areas along the river in Republic and South Republicand will impact the yards of homes near Bengtson bridge on County Road LI in South Republic At 8.5 feet, Water begins to cover County Road LG 2.6 miles northwest of M-95 At 9.0 feet, Water impacts the yards and a few homes near Bengtson bridge on County Road LI in South Republic and along Floodwood Drive near the Michigamme River east of M-95. Approximately 6 inches of water is covering portions of County Road LG northwest of M-95
Additional Details: - At 10:10 AM CDT Monday /11:10 AM EDT Monday/ the stage was 4.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.5 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to 8.9 feet early Sunday afternoon.
