The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Michigan Chocolay River near Harvey affecting Marquette County. .Rainfall has recently fallen on a deep primed snowpack leading to the melt increasing. Additional heavy rainfall may be seen later at times this week, increasing snowmelt and river flows. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Chocolay River near Harvey.
When: From this evening to Thursday evening.
Impacts: At 9.0 feet, Water begins to inundate the parking lot where M-28 crosses the Chocolay Riveras well as low lying areas along Timber Lane and towards the mouth of the river At 10.0 feet, Water inundates the entire parking lot at the M-28 bridgeand the fishing pier begins to be submerged. Water inundates low lying areas along Timber Lane and Riverside Road downstream of the river gauge site At 11.5 feet, The fishing pier and parking lot near the M-28 bridge will be under water. Timber Lane and Riverside Road may be closed. Homes along Timber Laneand some along Riverside Roadwill experience extensive flooding At 12.0 feet, Homes in low-lying areas along Riverside Road and homes in the 200 block of Timber Lane will be inundated. Backwater effects near the mouth of the river may impact homes on Motel Drive
Additional Details: - At 7:30 PM EDT Monday the stage was 10.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.4 feet early tomorrow afternoon. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and could rise into River Flood Warning. Rainfall is expected to occur at times this week, which could result in rivers rising above the current forecast.
What: Elevated river levels caused by rain and snowmelt continue.
Where: Michigamme River near Republic.
When: Until further notice.
Impacts: At 7.7 feet, Water begins to impact the yards of homes near Bengtson bridge on County Road LI in South Republic At 10.0 feet, Portions of County Roads 601LE and LG experience significant flooding

Additional Details: - At 955 AM EDT, gauge reports from the Chocolay River in Skandia indicated heavy rain and snowmelt creating bankfull to higher river levels. This is causing small stream flooding.
