Description

The Flood Advisory continues for the following rivers in Michigan Sturgeon River near Nahma Junction affecting Delta County. .Heavy rain has fallen on a deep primed snowpack leading to the snowmelt increasing. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels.
What: Elevated river levels caused by rain and snowmelt continue.
Where: Sturgeon River near Nahma Junction.
When: Until further notice.
Impacts: At 8.0 feet, Water overflows the banks along the river At 10.0 feet, Water floods low lying areas along the river. This may includeparts of the Flowing Well Campground downstream of gauge site and the tenmile rapids canoe launch upstream of the gauge site.
Additional Details: - At 9:45 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 9.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - ForecastNo forecast is available for this location. - Action stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Description

What: Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected.
Where: A portion of central Upper Michigan, including the following counties, Delta, Dickinson and Menominee.
When: Until 745 AM EDT /645 AM CDT/ Monday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1048 PM EDT /948 PM CDT/, rain and snowmelt is occurring, and will cause minor flooding. - At 326 PM EDT/226 PM CDT/, MDOT reported that US-2 was closed in the advisory area due to excessive rainfall and snowmelt and remains closed at this time. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Escanaba, Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Norway, Powers, Hermansville, Ford River, Wilson, Spalding, Bark River, Whitney, Waucedah, Cunard, Schaeffer, Loretto, Vulcan, Hyde and Quinnesec. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood
