THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 349 IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT THIS MORNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KENTUCKY THIS WATCH INCLUDES 11 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL KENTUCKY ANDERSON BOURBON BULLITT CLARK FAYETTE GARRARD JESSAMINE MADISON MERCER SPENCER WOODFORD THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALTON, BARDSTOWN JUNCTION, BEREA, BOHON, BRYANTSVILLE, BUCKEYE, CLERMONT, CLINTONVILLE, DUCKERS, ELK CREEK, FORD, GLENSBORO, HARRODSBURG, HIGH BRIDGE, KEENE, KINGSTON, KIRKSVILLE, LANCASTER, LAWRENCEBURG, LEXINGTON, LITTLE MOUNT, LOWELL, MCCREARY, MILLVILLE, MOUNT WASHINGTON, NICHOLASVILLE, PAINT LICK, PARIS, REDHOUSE, RICHMOND, RUCKERVILLE, SHAKERTOWN, SHEPHERDSVILLE, TAYLORSVILLE, TYRONE, VALLEY VIEW, VERSAILLES, WAKEFIELD, WATERFORD, WILMORE, AND WINCHESTER.

Description

What: Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of Indiana, including the following areas, Clark IN, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison IN, Jefferson IN, Orange, Perry, Scott IN and Washington IN and Kentucky, including the following areas, Anderson, Bourbon, Bullitt, Clark KY, Fayette, Franklin, Harrison KY, Henry, Jefferson, Meade, Nicholas, Oldham, Scott KY, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble and Woodford.
When: Until 9 AM EDT /8 AM CDT/ this morning.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of central Kentucky, including the following counties, Anderson, Bullitt, Franklin, Jefferson, Nelson, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford.
When: Until 1015 AM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 621 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Shepherdsville, Lawrenceburg, Pioneer Village, Taylorsville, Hollyvilla, South Park View, Fern Creek, Highview, Okolona and Minor Lane Heights. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
