Strong wind gusts are possible tonight as strong cold front approaches Eastern Kentucky. Widespread wind gusts between 25 and 40 mph are possible both ahead of and behind the front. Locally stronger gusts cannot be ruled out as a narrow line of frontal rain showers moves through eastern Kentucky late this evening into the overnight hours. Isolated gusts in excess of 40 mph, and possibly even 50 mph in some instances, are possible with the strongest showers. Wind gusts of this magnitude may cause localized impacts, including minor property damage and power outages.
