SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 293 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 14 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS FINNEY GRANT GRAY HAMILTON HASKELL KEARNY MORTON SEWARD STANTON STEVENS IN WEST CENTRAL KANSAS LANE NESS SCOTT TREGO THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CIMARRON, DEERFIELD, DIGHTON, ELKHART, GARDEN CITY, HUGOTON, JOHNSON CITY, LAKIN, LIBERAL, MONTEZUMA, NESS CITY, SATANTA, SCOTT CITY, SCOTT STATE LAKE, SUBLETTE, SYRACUSE, ULYSSES, AND WAKEENEY.

At 532 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Beeler, moving northeast at 25 mph.
Hazard: Golf ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

Impact: People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Utica, Alamota, and Beeler.
