THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 91 IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN INDIANA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 18 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL INDIANA BOONE CLINTON HAMILTON HANCOCK HENDRICKS HOWARD JOHNSON MADISON MARION MORGAN TIPTON IN EAST CENTRAL INDIANA DELAWARE IN NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA CARROLL IN WEST CENTRAL INDIANA CLAY MONTGOMERY OWEN PUTNAM TIPPECANOE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ANDERSON, BRAZIL, BROWNSBURG, CARMEL, CRAWFORDSVILLE, DANVILLE, DELPHI, FISHERS, FLORA, FRANKFORT, FRANKLIN, GOSPORT, GREENCASTLE, GREENFIELD, GREENWOOD, INDIANAPOLIS, KOKOMO, LAFAYETTE, LEBANON, MARTINSVILLE, MOORESVILLE, MUNCIE, NOBLESVILLE, PLAINFIELD, SPENCER, TIPTON, WEST LAFAYETTE, AND ZIONSVILLE.

Description

At 851 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Plainfield, or 14 miles southwest of Indianapolis, moving northeast at 60 mph.
Hazard: Winds in excess of 40 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Greenwood, Lawrence, Plainfield, Brownsburg, Beech Grove, Zionsville, Speedway, Mooresville, Southport, Westfield, Avon, Cicero, Arcadia, Meridian Hills, Brooklyn, and Warren Park. This includes the following highway
S: Interstate 65 between mile markers 102 and 126. Interstate 69 between mile markers 200 and 210. Interstate 70 between mile markers 60 and 91. Interstate 74 between mile markers 69 and 94.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight EDT for central Indiana.
