Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Indiana Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site. Wabash River at Riverton. Wabash River at Mount Carmel. .Recent additional heavy rainfall around one to two inches has produced minor flooding on the lower Wabash River. The Wabash River near Hutsonville and Riverton will fall below minor flood stage briefly later today into tonight before a second crest occurs Sunday.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Wabash River at Riverton.
When: Until early Tuesday morning.
Impacts: At 16.0 feet, Some agricultural lands underwater. A few rural roads in Crawford County, Illinois close as water backs up Minnow Slough. High water affects campground at Leaverton Park in Palestine. A few private roads near the Gill Township levee in Sullivan County may flood. Water level is at the top of most makeshift levees.
Additional Details: - At 12:00 PM EDT Friday /11:00 AM CDT Friday/ the stage was 15.4 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:00 PM EDT Friday /11:00 AM CDT Friday/ was 15.7 feet. - ForecastThe river will fall below flood stage late this afternoon to 14.4 feet tomorrow morning. It will then rise above flood stage early Sunday morning to 15.7 feet early Monday morning. It will fall below flood stage again early Monday afternoon. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
