A Flood Watch for flash flooding means rapid-onset flooding is possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Flash flooding is a dangerous situation. Persons with interests along area rivers, creeks, and other waterways should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in WisconsinIllinoi
S: Fox River Lower Near New Munster affecting Lake and Kenosha Counties. Root River Canal At Raymond affecting Racine County.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Fox River Lower near New Munster.
When: From late tonight to Tuesday morning.
Impacts: At 11.5 feet, Water is in the yards of some homes in the Village of Salem Lakes and Town of Wheatland areas, including Riverside Dr and Shorewood Dr. There are 3-4 inches of water over 77th Street in the Town of Wheatland.
Additional Details: - At 3:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 10.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 11.3 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 11.3 feet on 03/30/2020. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued late tonight at 400 AM CDT.
