A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Persons along rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop. These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may cause changes to these river forecasts. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued by late tonight.

Description

The Flood Watch continues for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Fox River at Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater affecting Kane, McHenry and Lake IL Counties.
: The Flood Watch is extended for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Des Plaines River at Lincolnshire affecting Northern Cook and Lake IL zones. For the Fox River (Illinois)including Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater, Montgomery, Daytonflooding is possible.
What: Flooding is possible.
Where: Fox River from Johnsburg downstream to Red Gate Road in St. Charles, including the Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater gauge.
When: From Tuesday afternoon to Sunday morning.
Impacts: At 9.5 feet, Fox River Drive threatened in East Dundee. Boathouses threatened along the river in Cary.
Additional Details: - At 9:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 9.3 feet. - ForecastFlood stage may be reached early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 9.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in WisconsinIllinoi
S: Fox River Lower Near New Munster affecting Kenosha and Lake Counties.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Fox River Lower near New Munster.
When: Until early Friday morning.
Impacts: At 12.0 feet, Water is up to the first floor levels of some homes in the Town of Wheatland and Village of Salem Lakes area along Riverside Drive and Shorewood Drive.
Additional Details: - At 10:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 12.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 AM CDT Monday was 12.5 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday evening and continue falling to 9.7 feet Monday, April 13. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 12.2 feet on 06/13/2001. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
