THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 89 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 10 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS BOONE DE KALB LA SALLE LEE OGLE WINNEBAGO IN NORTHEAST ILLINOIS GRUNDY KANE KENDALL MCHENRY THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALGONQUIN, AURORA, BELVIDERE, BYRON, COAL CITY, CRYSTAL LAKE, DEKALB, DIXON, ELGIN, LA SALLE, MARSEILLES, MCHENRY, MENDOTA, MINOOKA, MORRIS, OREGON, OSWEGO, OTTAWA, PLANO, ROCHELLE, ROCKFORD, STREATOR, SYCAMORE, WOODSTOCK, AND YORKVILLE.

The circulation in the storm which prompted the tornado warning has weakened, therefore the tornado warning will be allowed to expire. This complex of storms will continue to produce damaging winds to 70 mph and hail up to one inch in diameter. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains for much of Ogle and Lee Counties.
