The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Mackinaw River near Congerville affecting Woodford, McLean and Tazewell Counties. .Heavy rain of 2 to 4 inches fell over the Mackinaw River basin since midday Wednesday, and this has resulted in rapid rises on the river. Flooding is expected to develop later today. The following forecasts are based on observed precipitation, soil moisture conditions, and forecast precipitation.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Mackinaw River near Congerville.
When: From this afternoon to tomorrow evening.
Impacts: At 13.0 feet, widespread agricultural flooding occurs.
Additional Details: - At 5:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 10.1 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 13.8 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
