A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Persons along rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop. These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may cause changes to these river forecasts. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued by Monday afternoon.

Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in WisconsinIllinoi
S: Baraboo River At Reedsburg affecting Sauk County. Baraboo River At Rock Springs affecting Sauk County. Baraboo River Near Baraboo affecting Columbia and Sauk Counties. Fox River Lower Near New Munster affecting Kenosha and Lake Counties. Wisconsin River At Portage affecting Columbia County.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Fox River Lower near New Munster.
When: Until early Friday morning.
Impacts: At 12.0 feet, Water is up to the first floor levels of some homes in the Town of Wheatland and Village of Salem Lakes area along Riverside Drive and Shorewood Drive.
Additional Details: - At 4:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 12.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 4:00 AM CDT Monday was 12.5 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.4 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 12.4 feet on 05/01/2020. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued this afternoon at 530 PM CDT.
