A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Persons along rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop. These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may cause changes to these river forecasts. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued by Monday afternoon.

Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake IL County. Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake IL County.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Des Plaines River from IL/WI state line downstream to US-41 in Gurnee, including the Russell gauge.
When: Until Thursday morning.
Impacts: At 9.5 feet, Residential structures threatened along Russell Road between the river and Kilbourne Road. Industrial parking lots threatened along Kilbourne Road.
Additional Details: - At 7:30 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 8.6 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

When: Until early Friday morning.
Impacts: At 9.0 feet, Kilbourne Road and Emerald Avenue threatened near Grand Avenue in Gurnee.
Additional Details: - At 7:30 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 7.8 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.3 feet Tuesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
