Fire Weather Watch In Effect Monday Afternoon And Evening For Wind And Low Relative Humidity For The Mountains Of Northeast Georgia: The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
Affected Area: Rabun and Habersham Counties.
Timing: For the Red Flag Warning, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
Winds: Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 30 mph each afternoon.
Humidity: Minimum relative humidity of 20 to 30 percent each afternoon.
Fuel Moisture: Likely falling to 8 percent or lower each afternoon.
Impacts: Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
