THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 183 IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN FLORIDA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 6 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA BREVARD LAKE ORANGE OSCEOLA SEMINOLE VOLUSIA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALLANDALE, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, APOPKA, BITHLO, CASSELBERRY, CELEBRATION, CONWAY, DAYTONA BEACH, DEER PARK, DELTONA, EAU GALLIE, EMERALDA, EUSTIS, FARMTON, HORIZON WEST, KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, LADY LAKE, LAGRANGE, LAKE ASHBY, LAKE DORA, LEESBURG, MELBOURNE, MOUNT DORA, MULLET LAKE PARK, OSTEEN, OVIEDO, PALM BAY, PLAYALINDA BEACH, PORT ORANGE, SANFORD, TAVARES, TITUSVILLE, WEKIVA SPRINGS, AND WINTER SPRINGS.

Description

At 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Daytona International Speedway, or over Daytona Beach, moving east at 35 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, and South Daytona.

Action Recommandée

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for east central Florida.

What: Southwest to West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts near 35 mph expected.
Where: Volusia, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola and Brevard counties.
When: From 10 AM this morning to 6 PM EDT this evening.
Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Small tree limbs could be blown down.

Action Recommandée

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.

At 236 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Scottsmoor, moving east at 30 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Titusville, Oak Hill, Mims, Playalinda Beach, and Scottsmoor.

Action Recommandée

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for east central Florida. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
