Description

What: For the first Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 110. For the second Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 110 expected.
Where: Portions of south central and southwest Alabama, northwest Florida, and southeast Mississippi.
When: For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM CDT this evening. For the second Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 8 PM CDT Thursday.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Action Recommandée

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

At 302 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Wright, moving south at 10 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Wright, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Destin, Eglin AFB, Valparaiso, Mary Esther, Ocean City, Lake Lorraine, Shalimar, and Cinco Bayou.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
