THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 271 IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM CDT /10 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA BIG STONE TRAVERSE IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 21 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA BUFFALO HAND HUGHES HYDE JONES LYMAN STANLEY SULLY IN NORTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA EDMUNDS FAULK MCPHERSON IN NORTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA BROWN CLARK CODINGTON DAY DEUEL GRANT HAMLIN MARSHALL ROBERTS SPINK THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ABERDEEN, BRITTON, CLARK, CLEAR LAKE, EUREKA, FAULKTON, FORT PIERRE, FORT THOMPSON, HAYTI, HIGHMORE, IPSWICH, KENNEBEC, MILBANK, MILLER, MURDO, ONIDA, ORTONVILLE, PIERRE, REDFIELD, SISSETON, WATERTOWN, WEBSTER, AND WHEATON.

Description

At 712 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Kidder, or near Britton, moving east at 25 mph.
Hazard: Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe storm will be near Kidder around 715 PM CDT.

Action Recommandée

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern South Dakota. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
