Description

What: Up to 1 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level likely in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
Where: Southern Middlesex and Southern New London Counties.
When: From 11 PM this evening to 5 AM EST Monday.
Impacts: Widespread minor coastal flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect up to 1 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.
Additional Details: This water level forecast has been leaned towards a high end scenario, providing a margin of safety. It is highly dependent on timing of windshift from northeast to north storm force winds with respect to the time of high tide. If shift to northerly winds occurs earlier than time of high tide, water levels will fall to the low end or even below the forecast range.

Action Recommandée

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
