What: For the Coastal Flood Warning, 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet expected in the surf zone.
Where: Ocracoke Island.
When: For the Coastal Flood Warning, from 4 PM this afternoon to midnight EST Sunday night. For the High Surf Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Sunday.
Impacts: Up to 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes adjacent to the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. Portions of Highway 12 may be inundated and impassable.
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
