What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Areas near and downstream of Mark West Creek near Mirabel Heights Until 600 PM PST Wednesday.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
Additional Details: - At 746 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Sebastopol, Cotati, Larkfield-Wikiup, South Santa Rosa Cdp, Forestville and Graton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
