THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 266 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ALABAMA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 6 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL ALABAMA BUTLER CONECUH COVINGTON CRENSHAW MONROE WILCOX THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ANDALUSIA, BRANTLEY, CAMDEN, EVERGREEN, GREENVILLE, HOMEWOOD, LUVERNE, MONROEVILLE, OPP, AND PINE HILL.

Description

At 729 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles northwest of I65 And US 84, or 8 miles northwest of Evergreen, moving southeast at 20 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include Evergreen and I65 And US 84.

Action Recommandée

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for south central Alabama.
