At 918 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles north of Eastpoint, moving southeast at 30 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Carrabelle, St George Island, Eastpoint, Apalachicola, Franklin, Carrabelle Beach, Buck Siding, Royal Bluff, High Bluff, Yent Place, St George Island St Pk, Beverly, Green Point, Creels, Hays Place, Fort Gadsden, and Bay City.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Where: Portions of Big Bend and Panhandle Florida and south central and southwest Georgia.
When: For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ to 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ Wednesday.
Impacts: Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
