Description

What: For the Coastal Flood Warning, 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet expected in the surf zone.
Where: East Carteret County.
When: For the Coastal Flood Warning, from noon Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 7 PM Saturday to 7 PM EST Sunday.
Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion will occur.

Action Recommandée

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

What: For the High Wind Warning, north winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the Extreme Cold Watch, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 4 below possible.
Where: East Carteret County.
When: For the High Wind Warning, from 4 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Watch, from late Saturday night through Monday morning.
Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
