Description

What: For the Coastal Flood Warning, 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet expected in the surf zone.
Where: East Carteret County.
When: For the Coastal Flood Warning, from noon Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 7 PM Saturday to 7 PM EST Sunday.
Impacts: Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion will occur.

Action Recommandée

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

What: For the High Wind Warning, north winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 2 below expected.
Where: East Carteret County.
When: For the High Wind Warning, from 4 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 7 PM Saturday to 10 AM EST Monday.
Impacts: Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive. Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.
